We Are The World Blogfest: Positive Twitterday

As almost every last Friday of the month, let’s talk a little about the good things in the world. This is the We Are The World Blogfest.

This Friday, WATWB coincided with #PositiveTwitterDay. Let’s talk about this a little because social media has been getting a lot of bad press lately, and it can also be a wonderful space with people lifting up each other.

This is what my Twitter friend did the other day (whom I never met but was brought together because of our common interest in a band):

It was wonderful to see (and to be included in) all the kind reactions and overflowing support. (Check the thread.)

I do generally experience that on social media, mostly because I’m very selective and strict about what I allow into my personal digital space.

Positivity, I believe, is a dual flow: one has to give it to receive it and the best way to start it is with yourself. Do something good for your soul today, and you’ll see the difference.

If these don’t work, the NHS (British health service) has some other ideas:

Don’t forget to help others:

Animals or children, they are dependent on us:

And don’t give up. Life is not a straight line but keep going:

Keep going and keep believing.

I believe in the good of humanity, the good in you.

And if you still crave more positive stories, please visit the posts from my talented friends. We co-host this month’s rounds:

Let’s give our big thanks to the founders of WATWB: Belinda and Damyanti.

Check out all the posts in our Facebook group and/or on Twitter.

Wishing you a great day with the best of humanity!

Love,
Andrea

  1. Thanks for sharing these wonderful tweets!

My WATWB post chimes with yours this time—it is also about positive action through twitter.

Thankyou for hosting this month, Andrea. I really appreciate all you do for the team.

  2. I didn’t know about positive twitter day either. I read twitter very sparingly anyway so my experience with it is usually fine. I do know that when I made a decision to step out of arguing on the internet, my life got better. Thanks for posting!

  3. Hi Andrea – I ‘don’t do twitter’ or much FB … but it’s great to see what can be done … the main thing is to be positive and help others … and this blogfest does that … cheers Hilary
