Lazarus and others like him #WATWB

Today is that monthly event when we focus on only the good stuff in the world. We call it We Are The World Blogfest, or WATWB. Do check the other posts with the hashtag to absorb a little happiness.

Today I’d like to bring you a family that wouldn’t give up on a cat some winters ago and ever since. It’s not only the story itself but also the comments that warmed my heart: so much caring and love.

Q: Have you ever rescued an animal?

Edit: if the Facebook link doesn’t bring up the video, you can also watch it on YouTube albeit without the lovely comments of the original. People there shared their own rescue stories and man, was there a lot!

For more positive stories like these, check out the β€œWe Are The World” blog series, this month hosted by Sylvia Stein, Susan Scott, Inderpreet Uppal, Damyanti Biswas, Shilpa Garg and myself.

We bring inspirational examples from all around the world about people who go out of their way to make life better. Do join if you can – this world needs more light. You can read the stories on twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere under #WATWB.

  1. Pretty much all our animals have been strays/shelter animals. My husband can’t seem to say no to a dog or kitten.

I tried clicking on your link to the facebook post, but it gave me an error message. 😦

  2. Wow, I love how they fought for this little one. We had a kitten who had been dumped in a ditch on the side of the road. Soaking wet, malnourished and sick with a respiratory infection it was a struggle for the first few months but he was feisty. He pulled through and lived to be our furbaby until the ripe old age of 17. Thanks so much for sharing and for being part of #WATWB.

    1. Ah bless you, they make such good friends, aren’t they? We were quite known in our street for taking in animals and someone actually left 3 little kittens for us one day. Unfortunately they were only a couple days old so 2 of them didn’t survive but one of them is still with me.

  3. Thank you for sharing this! I feed two feral cats at my church and have gotten them spayed plus some shots. All our dogs have been rescued from the pound or rescue organizations.

  4. That snowball is the most beautiful cat! Lovely post thanks Miss Andi – the FB link didn’t work but the youtube link did. Our cats and dogs have in the past have been ‘rescued’ and they make the wonderful additions to our family. Thanks for being part of the #WATWB πŸ™‚
